What to Expect at Berlin Fashion Week 2025

Whilst the first two months of the year are often characterised by failed New Year’s resolutions and more rain than most of us would care for, it is also time for fashion’s hottest season: Once again Berlin Fashion Week is upon us and whilst we still have to practise patience for a few more weeks let’s take a look at this season’s hottest anticipations…

Marina Hörmanseder

After skipping last season with her main label and only participating in the About You Fashion Circus with sub label Hoermanseder, Marina Hörmanseder is officially back on the Berlin Fashion Week AW 2025 calendar. Known for her leather vases and as of lately Care Bear and Lego collaborations, I am certain that she will nail the strong emerge of surrealism. I am expecting more colours reminiscent of candies and rainbows – I am sure everyone with a sweet tooth will get their serving…

Sia Arnika

With her spiritual background, the Danish-born often plays with transforming classic silhouettes into whimsical experiments. Most recently Sia Arnika has collaborated with Kylie Jenner in the creation of a limited-edition collection for her brand Khy. I always love to see how she manages to mix minimalism with maximalism in a most harmonious and innovative way. I wonder into which cosmos she will whisk us away this season…

Marc Cain

I love myself a good Marc Cain show. Last summer we got to enjoy the castle of Sanssouci in Potsdam as a backdrop and I am highly curious as to which elegant location the brand chooses this year to display their newest collection. Why can’t I wait? Because as much as I love myself a “classic Berlin” brand (aka techno couture) I appreciate the diversity Marc Cain brings with sophisticated silhouettes and my personal favourite: colours!

Kitschy Couture

Valentine’s Date with Kitschy Couture is what it says in the official Berlin Fashion Week calendar and with the show being only 2 weeks before the day of the lovers I can’t help but wonder if I should wait to purchase that cute burgundy number I saw at Apropos on Ku’damm and instead wait to see if I can snatch a runway piece (stay delululemon). The July show gave us a massive swan floatie in the pools of Neukölln. Will we get heart shaped candies and 99 red balloons on the 1st of February? What I appreciate a lot is the journey the designer’s concepts take – from the bride marrying herself for AW24/25 to then going on a honeymoon for SS25 and now going on a Valentine’s Date. Oh how I love love.

Marlon Ferry

Stunning me into silence is not an easy feat for I love to yap. Marlon Ferry debuting his collection last summer at Berlin Fashion Week did manage to accomplish that feat however. With extraterrestrial shapes that got my designer heart in awe of the pattern making and an eerie atmosphere created by the ominous soundtrack this has become one of the shows I really wouldn’t want to miss. No notes.

Rebekka Ruétz

In the past seasons the Austrian designer has presented her collections as part of the Collective Four, a designer quartet consisting of herself, Kilian Kerner, Marcel Ostertag and Danny Reinke, showing on the same day at the same location, inviting the public to purchase tickets, the proceeds of which are donated to various charities. This year she is showing her collection apart from them at Alte Münze. Known for her empowering designs and innovative material combinations, I am certain we can expect a wonderful mix of cool-cut suit jackets and flirty dresses.

William Fan

Another brand who skipped last season and instead launched their first fine jewellery line “Table Staple” is Berlin’s beloved William Fan. The designer always manages to create beautiful synergies between Chinese and European design elements without putting an age or gender on his creations. Whilst I am a true admirer of the brand’s clothes, I am even more excited to see the new accessories on the runway – from shoes to bags, Carrie Bradshaw and I approve.

Maximilian Gedra

Known for his surrealistic and dramatic shapes, Maximilian Gedra is always a personal favourite. Last season he collaborated with artist Krisztian P. who created intricate masks to compliment some of the 3D-printed elements. The show felt very intimate with a piano player and in a rather small location which I hope we will see more of this upcoming season.

Who Will We Miss?

There are a few beloved names missing in this season’s calendar so here are my honorary mentions.

From left to right: Riana & Nina, the designer duo that always brings fresh wind with its eclectic colour palette and pattern combinations; Namilia, a Berlin favourite with its unapologetically cool designs.

Hopefully we will see these brands again in the summer. In the meantime I for one can not wait to see what this season is going to surprise us with…
